As Madison’s arts community continues to grow, so does the need for bold, creative leadership—and that’s exactly our goal at Friends of Madison Arts Commission (FoMAC).
This January, we partnered with Mission Forward and facilitator Jeff Burkhart to guide our annual planning process and chart a clear course for 2025. With Jeff’s thoughtful facilitation, we created an action-oriented roadmap to advance our mission, strengthen public support for the arts, and elevate Madison as a city that values creativity and culture.
Our 2025 Strategic Direction
We emerged from our January planning session with two primary goals for the year: Make the Case for Public Support We’re working to tell a more compelling story about why public art matters—how it builds belonging, sparks imagination, and contributes to a thriving Madison. We’ll use this message in grant proposals, donor campaigns, and community engagement efforts throughout the year. Raise Funds to Support Public Art Initiatives Public art tells our city’s story. It brings people together, creates moments of reflection and joy, and ensures our public spaces reflect the full diversity of our community.
Our planning process with Mission Forward helped us: · Focus on the most urgent opportunities · Align our board and partners around a common vision · Set achievable goals grounded in community needs
We’re already moving forward. Our financial development and marketing teams are hard at work on strengthening donor outreach and building the infrastructure to support new and ongoing initiatives.
We thank you for your support and look forward to collaborating for a more vibrant, inclusive arts landscape in Madison.
With gratitude and creative energy, Friends of Madison Arts Commission
From everyone at FoMAC, thank you to Jeff Burkhart for guiding us through this process!
